Game is really tedious and even though the different difficulty settings offer some variety as far as a challenge goes, nothing gets harder in whatever mode you're playing on.

It takes forever to get the medals, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that the score seems kind of random as far as how it tallies itself up. I can only imagine that there's a hit test at the bottom of the screen below the canvas that registers it and deletes the movie clip while upping the score, but whatever it is it doesn't seem to work very well (actually, that way seems like the best way of doing things if you hadn't done that already).

Also, increase the frame rate. A game like this would work better if it was smoother looking, and 12 fps (or possibly lower) doesn't cut it. Makes the game feel choppy.

Sorry for the belated reply.
I've never really considered the game tedious or the score tallying random, but I do agree on the latter. It doesn't work the way you proposed and looking back, it's actually quite a weird way that I wouldn't have gone with now.
I completely agree with the frame rate. This is partially based off of "How to make a platform game in advance" (as are all current Floorslands; the upcoming one won't even be a Flash game), and I guess I just didn't care to adjust the constants to make it work with higher frame rates (I should have as it really does feel choppy).
I definitely can't call the game good now that I look back at it. It's quite flawed, and I'd rather completely rewrite it than patch up the mistakes. Thanks for the review!

I'm not sure why everyone's complaining this is hard. It's impossible for me to miss a single beat. But I guess that's because I'm a musician. lol

Galbert responds:

In fairness to them, it was a bit broken before. I fixed it up a bit after the complaints. I'm glad it's working well now.

Great game but there's a serious bug. The spacebar function doesn't work. It doesn't work when I'm reading bulletins so when I read one I'm stuck and have to refresh the page. Plus I'm unable to go through the training portion of the game because it requires using the spacebar to cycle through the text. Really hope you'll fix this soon, otherwise it's a solid game.

turtlesf responds:

shoot I had to remove duplicate bindings for the keymapping update (space was the same as E). Fixing it now. It will be up in a few minutes. In the meantime you can press E instead. I literally woke up from bed realizing this was probably broken, haha.

Alright, I'm not gonna lie I laughed my ass off at the texting part but only because it revolved around 2 chickens. Fun little game, simple and creative.

EggysGames responds:

Hahaha excellent. Thanks :)

Not very good. Controls are confusing and when you're punching and getting punched at the same time you just stop while the enemy continues punching. When you jump you just jump in a straight line and can't move while in the air. Unfortunately that's the problem with these game engine-made games, you can't fix any of this stuff.

elpepiii responds:

Well... I don't really know what you mean about "engine-made games", I could "fix" this stuff if I had the time, since I programmed it.
Anyways, I'm sorry you didn't like this game. Thanks for playing.

Decent game. I have to admit, I got really absorbed in it and played tons of hours. It's fun and addicting but definitely not flawless. The medals are weird, some of them (like mining gold and RP points) are easy and quick to get all of them but ones like purchasing goblins get so crazy you'd have to leave your computer on for a week to have enough gold to buy 100 goblins, they get so ridiculously expensive. Also, I got the 75 goblin medal, and yet it didn't unlock. So I believe that medal is broken. Didn't have any other bugs really like some people here are saying with the save data, it was just with that medal (so far).

After a while it becomes a waiting game. Mining gold becomes useless and you end up just leaving the game on waiting for the goblins to rack up millions for one upgrade and for your creatures to respawn so you can go into the battles. The battles are ok, but like others have said it would be useful if you mentioned exactly what each creature was effective against in the bestiary (you seem to mention it here and there when a battle is lost so why not in the bestiary?) Some battles were hard to predict who exactly to throw in as some were easy and quick and some I'd just randomly get my ass kicked. You did fix one thing from the beginning, I noticed, and that was the annoyance of summoning your creatures into battle. The "all" button made it 1000 times easier, before that it was annoying. So good job there.

I've played this game for days now and I just completed the conquering of the west lands, which gets me to believe that I'm not even close to finishing with 4 more lands to conquer, as the medals suggest. So that would require more tedious waiting around and whatnot. Overall, good job with this, I'm not trying to tear you apart in this review I'm just trying to point out the flaws of the game, besides these flaws I really did have fun with it.

PS: Wow I was about to say that before you put the title "prison" under torture chambers, but it looks like you not only fixed that but you added in to each room which exact creature it attracts. Keep making these small edits, man.

Blobzone responds:

Hey, thanks for the review.

Actually i thought conquering the west-lands would go pretty fast, as soon as you have a big army and lot of rooms checking in once in a while and fighting makes things progress much faster.

Well, i get your other points. Trying to fix things here and there :3

Did you try unlocking the 75-Goblin Medal in the starting screen? On the upper right there is a button for that.

Game doesn't work. I get to the last frame of the story intro and the music cuts out and it freezes. Can't do anything. I'm also using the latest version of Chrome so there's no reason, I don't think, why this should happen.

SiredSpace responds:

I've sent a pm with instructions regarding this issue. I hope to be able to correct this soon.

Ok, for 13 years old you have a lot of talent. Assuming you were able to put those scripts together yourself. Obviously there's not much to this game; no collecting stuff, no going different places, just simply running to the right and jumping on platforms. Adding music would have made it a whole lot better, and it's way easier to do than those scripts. You should also have used hit tests to make enemies, coins etc.

Like I said you have a lot of talent. I would suggest remaking this game and adding a lot more cool stuff to really make it worth playing. Keep at it, man.

Raikhen responds:

I can't remake the game because i lost the .fla :/ but now i am doing a game with enemies, lives, (i hope that sound), etc. Sorry for my english.

Fun game, lot's of flaws.

First off, I love the concept. The changing of colors allows for a lot more originality than the typical drop down game without it. However, there are lots of flaws. First and foremost, the biggest flaw this game possesses is when I am moving to the side, I am unable to change color because my mouse will be off the screen. In addition, the movement feels a bit slow and hard to control. Finally, the changing of colors to get to the one you want creates a sense of luck - if you happen to change to the right color right away, you're good, but if you happen to have to take a while then you might lose a life.

I feel like this would easily be fixed with the changing of colors not being only limited to clicking, but to be able to hit the spacebar to randomly change OR to be able to hit the 1, 2, 3, or 4 keys to change to the corresponding color. In addition, there should be an option at the beginning that lets the player select whether he wants to use the keyboard or the mouse.

Great game, great concept. If you change these few things, this game would be much, much better. Keep it up man!

TheBarber responds:

Hey thanks for such a detailed response, il continue to work on this thanks for the ideas
